The design of this apartment at Faena Residences began with a pursuit of serenity, continuity and warmth. A palette of natural woods and neutral tones accompanies the entire sequence of spaces, while the carefully selected furniture, artworks and objects come together to create a balanced and elegant interior.

The entrance introduces the project’s language through two interventions of contrasting character. A composition of ceramic pieces animates one wall through variations in form, relief and shadow, providing a counterpoint to a bespoke bar and wine cooler contained within a timber-clad volume. Integrated lighting and steel surfaces bring precision and a more technical contrast to the warmth of the joinery.

From there, the sequence opens onto a shared space that integrates the living room and kitchen. The continuity of the timber flooring and the repetition of a consistent colour palette allow both functions to coexist in harmony. Each area is distinguished through shifts in scale, furnishings and materiality, without interrupting the open and fluid perception of the interior.

At the centre of the living room, a rug with a curved pattern brings together pieces from different periods and origins. A light-coloured sofa with soft, rounded lines is paired with cognac leather armchairs by renowned mid-century Brazilian designer Sergio Rodrigues and an irregularly shaped timber coffee table. Lamps designed by George Nelson lend the composition a sense of lightness and sculptural geometry. Variations in texture, form and tone enrich the space without disturbing its overall balance.

Artworks and carefully selected objects play an essential role in shaping the atmosphere. Their arrangement introduces relief, movement and a handcrafted dimension. Set against the apartment’s neutral backdrop, these pieces become focal points whose distinctive character is gradually revealed as one moves through the space.

The kitchen was conceived as a pale timber enclosure, extending across the cabinetry, walls and ceiling to establish its own identity within the social area. A continuous stone-toned worktop defines the workspace with restraint, while a breakfast bar with rounded ends creates a gentle transition towards the living room. Above it, a suspended linear light follows the horizontal geometry and reinforces the clarity of the composition.

In the bedroom, the same palette acquires an even calmer character. The bed, with its soft lines, pale timber headboard and upholstered base, is complemented by curved bedside tables in the same wood and table lamps by Louis Poulsen. Above the headboard, a piece in timber and natural fibres by designer Agustín Leiro introduces rhythm and texture. Material continuity between the spaces completes a project in which every detail contributes to a coherent, warm and deeply considered experience.
