Plastered, whitewashed walls, green slate tiles, noble wood carpentry, a chimney and Mediterranean style arcades, plus unique petroleum colored tiles in the bathroom, are all remnants of the original construction which were left untouched in this renovation. Besides enabling the apartment to boast its original traits, a serene interior décor was applied, based on a classic color scheme for sea side towns – blue and light green – but also resorting to details in vibrant colors such as red. As it does when in charge of these types of renovations, the Studio used colors here in a way it would usually avoid at permanent residences. The equipment combines pieces produced by Acento with others bought at local stores: Marabierto and Occidente among others, the wood always in light lusters, rattan and wicker. Elements that reappear in different rooms are maps and illustrations of ships, a leitmotif that express the owner’s fascination with these things. Subtleties the Studio always takes into account for each project to ensure the final result vibrates with authentic and unique identity. The deck was painted gray to blend marvelously into the landscape, since this is the spot where breakfast takes place amidst a spectacular view, and midnight gatherings run their course with the ocean waves as their natural soundtrack.
